Thank you for you continued support to keep up this amazing programming!

Steele Field Day Friday, May 20th
Steele's Field Day will take place Friday May 20th in Washington Park. If Mother Nature sends us some tricky weather, Tuesday, May 24th is our rain date. Please note that our field use has changed. This year's field is directly south of the Wash Park Recreation Center. It is in between the Rec Center and the large volleyball field. It's a great space with lots of trees and access to the Rec Center restrooms.
Grades K-2 will begin their rotations at 8:45 sharp and end approximately 10:30. Grades 3-5 will begin promptly at 11:30 with the 5th Grade Relay. Don't miss it!
Immediately following the relay races the 3-5 classes will begin stations until approximately 2:15.
Please send your child prepared for a long, fun day in the sun. They will need:
- Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen (hats are encouraged)
- Gym shoes- please no sandals, crocs, boots
-
Their own water bottle with their name on it. I will have jugs of water to refill their bottles, but I will not have cups for them to use
- If the weather is hot there will be a water station. White attire should be avoided.
Many teachers are planning picnics in the park. I have the picnic site right next to the field reserved with tables to eat on. Please check with your teacher about their plans. If your student needs a sack lunch from our cafeteria please let your teacher know ahead of time so they can order one.
I am looking forward to a great day showcasing all of the skills we have worked very hard on throughout the year. If you have any questions, feel free to email Coach Welch. I hope you can make it for a wonderful community building event!

From locally harvested tomatoes to Colorado made meats and handmade pasta, Viàle is both authentic and unassuming."

Steele is striving to get all students registered by May 20th, as this will help the front office going into the next school year. The grade level with the most fully registered students will earn an extra 15 minutes of recess for a dance party.
To register online, primary legal guardians of current DPS students must have an active DPS Parent Portal account. Visit myportal.dpsk12.org to sign up, or to check that your account is active and ready.

Pre-Order School Supplies by June 30!
It's time to pre-order your school supplies! The Steele PTA will be collaborating with 1st Day School Supplies again this year to help get your students the classroom supplies they will use next school year.
Steele will be using this program as a fundraiser where $3 from every kit sold will go to our PTA. We have included a Donate a Kit button if families want to sponsor additional kits for families that may need one. If you find that purchasing a kit for your children is a hardship, please reach out to your teacher or Ms. Rosenberg to reserve a donated kit.
Thank you for participating in this program! Don't hesitate to reach out with questions to School Supply Program Coordinator Johanna Woodrow.
