Lunch & Recess Volunteer:
Less than an hour of your time can make a huge difference with helping at Lunch/Recess. We are understaffed and the extra hands help everything run more smoothly. Plus, you can see your child when they eat or play!
Lunch/Recess Times:
K/1 10:50-11:35
2/3 11:40-12:25
4/5 is 12:30-1:15
**Sign up to volunteer on Membership Toolkit for positions. All volunteers in the building must be vaccinated and have a free, quick and easy background check through DPS. On your first day of volunteering, bring proof of vaccination to the office, which will be copied and kept on file.
Green Team Volunteer:
Steele is getting ready for another successful year of composting and recycling in our lunchroom. You can help students create life-long sustainable habits and reduce waste at Steele by joining the Parent Green Team. Volunteer tasks will include:
- Offering words of encouragement and answering students’ recycling and composting questions at the sorting station during lunchtime.
- We ask that you try to volunteer at least two lunches a month.
- Occasionally power washing recycle and compost carts. This is great for parents that want to help but are not available during lunch hours.
- Educating the school community about the program by incorporating recycling and composting into school community events.
- Identifying additional ways and resources for sustainability and reducing waste at Steele.
Please contact Becky Goyton to sign up to volunteer with the Green Team and be trained on how to compost monitor in Steele’s Lunchroom.
Kona Ice TODAY, 9/3:
The Kona Ice truck will be outside Steele today after school. They will be selling shaved ice and 20% of sales goes back to our school.
Grocery Loyalty Card Fundraiser:
Every year Steele raises funds when families simply shop for their groceries at King Soopers and Safeway. Please join the program to give back to Steele while you shop! Learn more here.
