• clarifying the content of the position

  • articulating the development opportunities

  • defining the level of exposure someone will get to senior leaders (this is a real benefit of small companies)
  • describing your amazing culture

  • identifying the manager who is truly a mentor / coach

  • explaining unique benefits, incentive plans, top pay, work anywhere / anytime, etc.
We also encourage you to ensure that you not only know what the incentives are for the open position, but also how the selection team will showcase them, both during the interviews and in follow-up emails, site visits, mailing of swag, and other touches.

And as always, it's important to focus on the individual candidate and their particular needs and wants.

For even more tips and strategies, here are two more resources for you: Senior Consultant Jonathan Gellman's recent blog (see below) and my podcast that includes more discussion of the ideas that impact the culture and people of a workplace.
New resources
Cg Business Advisor recently launched a podcast featuring Laura focusing on three essential topics for leaders: "Leadership, Management and Success."

Laura discusses:

  • management skills for hybrid work environments
  • how to keep acquiring and honing skills
  • the impact of a company merger on managers
  • how leaders can affect company culture

Psychological Safety is another topic our clients are asking about.
This is basically the intentional effort to create a safe place for individuals to work together in teams, where their ideas are heard and respected.

Getting this right has significant benefits - nurturing diverse perspectives and a more inclusive team environment is linked to a 77% increase in organizational agility.
Check out our training, "Creating Psychological Safety" and then contact us to discuss how we can customize a session specific to your organization's needs.

Senior Consultant Jonathan Gellman shares his expertise in recruiting, with strategies to get your company in front of top candidates.
