Greetings from Our Geodome!
Spring has sprung at The Foundation School at Blair G. Ewing! Students and staff have been preparing for the upcoming warm weather with the newest addition to our school grounds, the Geodome Greenhouse. Did you know that geodomes are able to use more daylight and allow more sunlight to enter at any angle compared to a standard rectangular greenhouse? Applying lessons in science, math, engineering, and art, we first practiced building miniature geodomes in the classroom.
Students were then excited to work together and assemble the final Geodome Greenhouse, which is home to a series of raised beds that will nurture the vegetable seeds we planted. The Geodome has been a great exercise in experiential learning and we can’t wait to enjoy our incoming harvest!
