Dear Franklin Cummings Tech Community:
After a rejuvenating holiday break, Franklin Cummings Tech enters 2025 with momentum toward our new campus, enthusiasm for the spring term, and excitement about the students we welcomed earlier this month.
In this issue of The Spark, we start the year with inspiring stories from our exceptional faculty, students, and alumni. Leslie Tuplin, a talented alumni-turned-faculty member, has all three of these perspectives and shares what motivates her to teach construction management at Franklin Cummings Tech and the pleasure she takes in seeing her students succeed.
There are other inspirational stories and news in this issue. And in the spirit of inspiration, Board of Trustees Chair Rahn Dorsey has a special thank you message for our generous supporters, who made the past year our most successful yet in individual gifts.
As you know, our mission is to deliver transformative technical and trade education, and we are seeing greater awareness of the economic opportunity made possible when educational institutions teach the trades. As this article in Forbes shows, more higher education institutions are focusing on skills-based programming and partnering with industry to prepare graduates for high-demand jobs that build meaningful careers, create individual prosperity, and fuel regional economies. The proven benefits of pursuing an education in the trades have led to a 17% increase in enrollment at technical and trade colleges since 2023. News stories like this underscore the importance of Franklin Cummings Tech's mission, our unique strength in Massachusetts' higher education landscape, and our contribution to the state’s economy.
I look forward to sharing more inspiring stories and news with you throughout this calendar year as we close out our Future Forward strategic plan and develop new, ambitious goals for our next plan.
I wish you a happy, healthy, and rewarding new year ahead.
Sincerely,
|
