Boat sales have been tremendous over the last 2 years. So much so, the current environment has led to a deficiency of units available for sale. As we enter the season, we believe that boat sales will begin to normalize and get back to pre-pandemic levels. Interest rates are beginning to rise marginally coinciding with the Federal Reserve raising its benchmark rate. Major banks are planning for slight increase later this year.

New data from NMMA reveal that many first time boat buyers entered the market in 2020.
Boating demand and boat sales are remaining strong as more people discover the mental health benefits, joys and freedoms of being outside and on the water.
Despite the obstacles that stand in the way, boating continues to be top choice in recreation.
Even higher gas prices haven't decreased the crowds.

National Marine Manufacturers Association and Info-Link Technologies stated first-time boat buyers exceeded 415,000 boat purchases in 2021 for the second time in 15 years.

Know the Difference

In the digital age it is incredibly important to keep an eye on who you are corresponding with! When it comes to the Coast Guard and renewing your Certificate of Documentation it is no different. Here are some tips to keep in mind if you are closing in on your expiration date.

First and foremost, any correspondences you receive be sure they are from .GOV / National Vessel Documentation Center / United States Coast Guard. The Coast Guard will send a renewal notice to your address on file about 30-45 days before expiration. Be sure to keep them updated with the most current information and if you aren’t sure how to do so, give us a call!

Should you receive something in the mail, say 3-4 months ahead of time, you can simply look the other way. Don’t worry, the Coast Guard knows when you are due to renew!
