About the Author:

My name is Nicola Fraser and I am the author of the Word on the Street column. I am a soccer player for Real Colorado and train at Sterling's Team Speed. I will be writing articles that you can read right here in the monthly newsletter. My articles will focus on sports related topics from strength training to other sports and pro-athletes. When people read my column, my goal is to let them know the inside scoop of what’s happening in the sports world today and to give them a little extra knowledge in this hidden corner of the world. Sometimes it will be about how you can help your game by staying safe and learning about new injury prevention methods or what is going on with famous athletes. Thank You and I hope you enjoy Word on The Street articles!

Tried and True....
This is Sterling's 6th summer offering the Summer College Training Program. He incorporates all training packets and expectations that colleges give their players in order to pass their fitness tests when they report to school. His athletes not only finish in the top 3, but do so with confidence because they are fully prepared. Second to none, the mental conditioning that Sterling provides cannot be found anywhere else. Too many players underestimate the intensity of the college environment and are caught off guard with how high the expectations are. Sterling has these players ready to go and get after it!

May Athlete of the Month:
 Hadley Linder

Hadley is currently a 6th grader at Heritage Elementary School and she absolutely loves math. Hadley also plays competitive soccer year-round for her club team, Real Colorado 05 DA Girls. It's a full time commitment, involving lots of practices, games, travel, and tournaments, but she loves it and aspires to play in college at the University of North Carolina or UCLA.

Outside of soccer, Hadley is also a very talented basketball player and enjoys spending time with her friends and family, hiking, listening to music, and traveling in her free time. When we asked her what she wants to do when she grows up she said, "I want to become a professional soccer player or be a doctor".

We also asked her what she likes most about training with Coach Matt here at Sterling's Team Speed and she explained, " I love going to Team Speed before school because it gets my day started the right way so I can focus on everything I have to do the rest of the day. Matt makes the work challenging and fun at the same time and helped me to come back strong after an injury at the end of last season ".

When we asked Hadley how Sterling's Team Speed has made a difference in her training, she said, " Training with Matt has made me stronger and faster, which is important because I am one of the younger players on my team. Training in the off season and during the season helps me to gain strength and speed all year long. Team Speed challenges me to try and do things I didn’t know I could do which helps me do the same thing on the field."

Thanks for sharing, Hadley! Keep up the hard work!
