Steve Alten June Newsletter
MEGIsland Video Bonuses
To my readers:
My apologies for the delay in this update and the last few newsletters. When I have something big to announce or a special trailer to debut, I try to time it with the next newsletter. Last month we had an amazing new teaser for MEG ISLAND & SEA MONSTER COVE ready to go public, but my special effects team had an even better 3D model of the sea monster en route, so we decided to wait. Then the world went a little crazier and I felt like I needed to wait… then I thought about writing something “profound” and that wasted three days. Finally my wife said, “Don’t. Your fans don’t need your commentary, they need a break.”
She’s right.
So let me share some fun and exciting details about – the site that will host:

1. Aquarium visits to our 65 foot 40 ton albino Meg, Snowflake, and the rest of our sea monsters.

2. Our web tv series: Where Sea Monsters Roam, written & produced by the dude who wrote the MEG series.

3. A Where Sea Monsters Roam video game.
And much more! We have targeted SHARK WEEK 2020 for our opening day.
Anticipated Schedule

June 23 – July 1: Debut of Where Sea Monsters Roam Teaser #2.

June schedule for The Steve Alten Project:
New at TSAP private library: A special ebook edition of SHARKMAN complete with color images. MEG: Angel of Death 1.1. SURVIVAL, UNDISCLOSED, and an all-new version of GOLIATH 2020 are available for reading in the library (no charge).
June 10: Changeover Day: SHADES of GRAY

SHADES OF GRAY deals with racism and the transformation from indifference to caring that occurred in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, the birth place of the Aryan Nation. It is a fictional “feel good” story that parallels these changes, centering upon a “what if.” What if the wife of a white supremacist gave birth to a black child?

Recipe of the Month:
Blueberry Baked Oatmeal
2 tablespoons ground flaxseed + 6 tablespoons warm water
2 cups whole rolled oats
½ cup slivered almonds
½ cup hemp seeds
? cup coconut flakes
¼ cup brown sugar or coconut sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¾ teaspoon sea salt
¾ cup Almond Milk, at room temp
¼ cup maple syrup
3 tablespoons melted coconut oil
1 banana, chopped
1 cup strawberries, sliced
½ cup blueberries

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and spray an 8x8-inch (or similar) baking dish with cooking spray.

2. In a small bowl, combine the flaxseed and warm water and set aside to thicken for about 5 minutes.

3. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the almonds, hemp seeds and coconut flakes and set aside. In a large bowl combine the oats, the remaining almonds, hemp seeds and coconut flakes, and the baking powder, cinnamon, brown sugar and salt.

4. In a medium bowl, combine the almond milk, maple syrup and coconut oil and whisk to combine. Stir in the flaxseed mixture and blend until smooth.

5. Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients and stir to combine.

6. Layer the bananas and strawberries in the baking dish and spread the oat mixture on top. Sprinkle with the blueberries and the reserved almonds, hemp seeds and coconut flakes.

7. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until the top is crisp and the middle is set. I find it easiest to wedge a knife in and make sure the middle has thickened nicely. Remove and let cool for 15 minutes before serving.
