See Things Through a Different Lens

Perspective Is Power

Perspective in life is worth 80 IQ points. It’s the ability to think clearly and sensibly without exaggerating the good or the bad. When you put things in perspective, you create space to see situations from multiple angles while building empathy, improving decisions, and fostering an atmosphere where diverse viewpoints are heard and valued.

The Generational Lens

Engaging with different generations is one of the most significant ways to expand perspective. Each generation carries a distinct set of values, life experiences, and outlooks, all shaped by its time's economic, social, and technological climate.

  • Work-life balance. Attitudes toward balance, career progression, and loyalty differ by generation.
  • Communication. Styles vary, influencing how messages are shared and received.
  • Technology. Younger generations often adapt more quickly, reshaping how they interact with information and the world.

These differences aren’t barriers; they are opportunities. Every generation has something to teach, and every generation has something to learn. When we lean into those differences, we challenge assumptions and gain a richer, broader view of the world.

Reframing Assumptions

Here’s the truth: we don’t see the world as it is; we see it as we are. And often, assumptions cloud our vision. Turn on the news, and you’ll see it everywhere. What’s presented as fact is frequently opinion dressed up with confidence. Over time, these assumptions creep into daily conversations and snowball into “truths” that shape how people think and act. Perspective doesn’t happen by accident; it is cultivated. Engage with people from different backgrounds. Ask questions instead of assuming. Seek evidence instead of clinging to guesses and begin to See Things Through a Different Lens.
