Steve Neiers on Cybersecurity

The CRA is hosting a Zoom session on June 26, 10am Pacific, noon Central. The speaker is Steve Neiers - Chevron retiree and currently CEO for Clarity Consulting. Steve was the head of the Cybersecurity organization at Chevron.

Steve Neiers is now the Chief Executive Officer for Clarity Consulting Corporation. Steve came to Clarity after a 33-year career with Chevron and starting a consulting company, SafeNei LLC, in 2021. He joined Chevron in 1987, starting with a variety of technical geophysical roles before moving into leadership positions including managing Chevron’s global IT network, managing Chevron’s global end user computing environment, and in 2013 assuming the role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Chevron. Steve believes strongly that sharing cybersecurity information amongst public and private institutions is critical to our collective defense against threat actors of all types. To this end, he was an active participant with CEB, now Gartner, Information Risk Leadership Council and with Gartner’s Information Risk Management Research Board.

Steve will talk about the practical things we can do today to protect ourselves in today's cyber world. He will share lessons learned - from Chevron, industry, and personal experiences of where things went right or wrong, followed by moderated Q&A from the attendees.
