FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 26, 2015 Chicago - Following the final debate for 2nd Ward Alderman, Steve Niketopoulos, President of the Ukrainian Village Neighborhood Association (UVNA) and former candidate himself, today endorsed Brian Hopkins. The debate, hosted by UVNA, and moderated by Hal Dardick of the Chicago Tribune and Greg Hinz of Crain's Chicago Business was held at Columbus Elementary School on Tuesday. "Neighbors simply need to have a voice, and this debate reinforced why I think Brian is the stronger candidate and why I am endorsing him," said Niketopoulos. "I believe Brian understands the needs of the communities. He will play an active role in encouraging neighborhood representation and will focus on improving the long overdue repairs to our streets and alleys. He cares about our quality of life. I wish him the best of luck and will be casting my vote for him." "Steve Niketopoulos is a bold and innovative community leader and I am honored to have his support," said Brian Hopkins. "I am committed to a better 2nd Ward and I know with Steve's help, we will make that happen." This endorsement follows the support of other former candidates Bita Buenrostro and Cornell Wilson. "Going into the final two weeks, momentum is on our side," added Hopkins. "Our success is measured not only by the number of supporters we earn every day, but also by the strong field of former candidates that have endorsed my campaign."
