Las Vegas, NV -- Building up to the Rally season's journey to Sturgis, where his full line of Sturgis 75th Anniversary Commemorative jewelry and timepieces will be seen at Easyriders and One-Eye Jacks Saloons, Steve Soffa is literally "on the road" to the 92nd Laconia Motorcycle Week?
He is heading north from New Orleans, Louisiana with collectors, friends and fellow riders on an anniversary run to America's Oldest Riding Rally?. While Soffa is celebrating his 22nd year of offering his innovative artistry and collections of iconic jewelry and timepieces "geared" to the motorsports and motorcycle enthusiasts, G. Smith Motorsports of St. Rose, Louisiana, long-time collectors of Soffa's art is celebrating its parent company's 50th anniversary. As a group, they are riding to The NASWA Resort, home of the new Chrome Hill venue, where both Soffa and G. Smith will exhibit for the week.
Soffa, while riding an Indian Vintage bike along scenic Mid-eastern winding roads, will have some time to allow his creativity to soar, coming up with new ways of depicting his collectors' lifestyles in his specially designed, hand-crafted jewelry and watches. Businessmen and brothers Glen and Gary Smith, Sr. and Gary Smith, Jr., counsel for the family company and Louisiana State Senator, have worn a broad assortment of Soffa's collections as they enjoy matching their custom built choppers with complementary pieces of jewelry. On the road is where they express their own creativity and love for fine and exotic vehicles and motorcycles, as well as their affinity for shiny chrome, gold, silver and diamonds. Soffa has interpreted their performance-enhanced lifestyle through his Suicide King and Lost Skulls groups and other custom creations. A special addition to their personal Soffa collections will be two new custom designs he created for this trip.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Magnolia Companies of Louisiana, LLC which Glen and Gary Smith's father founded as a construction company, and the brothers then built into a 24+ company conglomerate, Soffa designed and handcrafted a set of rings; they depict the family's signature magnolia, an iconic Southern flower in rose gold, set with diamonds scores of different sized diamonds encircling the large center stone. Each diamond was painstakingly set and each piece of the ring sketched and cast to exacting standards so the sections would meld together, creating a seamless flow of glowing white and rose gold and shimmering diamonds. The rings weigh in at total of approximately 10-carats each.
The rings will be presented at a private party and will then be on display at The NASWA Resort for the remainder of the rally. Soffa's cases filled with custom and signature jewelry and pieces from his new Sturgis 75th Anniversary line will be displayed for sale in his race trailer at Chrome Hill, across the street from The NASWA Resort, 1086 Weirs Boulevard. Parking is available onsite, just blocks from Weirs Beach and steps from the lakefront NAZBar & Grill beach bar.
Chrome Hill is also the start of the June 13 Official Kickoff to Laconia Motorcycle Week, the Peter Makris Memorial Run. For that fundraising event, now in its 9th year, Soffa created a custom watch incorporating the event's logo that was designed by UhlWorks, artist colleagues of Soffa's. The man's watch will be a part of the silent auction held that afternoon at the all-day party surrounding the run, while Soffa plans to give the woman's watch to The NASWA Resort's Cynthia Makris; she took over operation of the resort which this year celebrates its 80th anniversary, after Peter Makris passed away 8 years ago and her mother, Hope "retired" from the front desk. Hope is still actively involved in the resort at 90 years old, so 2015 marks another significant anniversary year for the Makris family, personally and professionally.
"I wanted to support the fundraising effort for Laconia's first responders and also for the Easter Seals NH Veterans Count program," says Soffa, "It is always important to 'give back' to our communities."
"It will be a wonderful opportunity to spend time with Glen and Gary and our mutual friends on the road to Laconia," Soffa adds, "It is rare I get the chance to do such a long ride these days--it will be nice to get some wind in my face and recharge my batteries for the oldest and the biggest bike rallies. I haven't been to Laconia for a long time so it will be a good warm up for Sturgis," Soffa adds, "I can't wait to see the reaction to the Sturgis 75th commemorative collection and these custom creations for the event!"
