Stewart Title is pleased to announce that it has acquired a majority stake in Treefort Technologies Inc., and that Treefort has appointed Grant Goldrich as President.
Treefort is a Canadian-based technology company that provides a completely digital process for verifying the identity of individuals, as well as a secure virtual meeting room for lawyers, notaries, lenders and business professionals to meet and sign documents with verified participants.
The company uses leading fraud prevention and digital identity technology to significantly mitigate the risk associated with the use of fraudulent identification during the real estate transaction, while also ensuring the highest standards of security and data privacy for a seamless and legally compliant digital experience.
At Stewart Title, our philosophy has always been to invest in programs and technologies that help keep real estate transactions with law firms. Part of this commitment is offering technology that evolves with the needs of our clients. Within the past two years much has changed, making closing real estate deals ever more challenging. We see this investment in Treefort as an opportunity to help legal professionals conduct closings more efficiently, safely and with greater peace of mind.
Treefort will continue to operate as an independent company with Grant Goldrich as President. With over 30 years of experience as a leader in the public, legal and real estate sectors, Grant’s mandate is to put these digital tools and the best of emerging technologies into the hands of legal professionals and other regulated entities to improve the client experience and mitigate the risk of fraud.
Stewart Title is very excited about this acquisition and what it will bring to our partners in the legal community. We are in the process of integrating Treefort’s technology into our systems and look forward to sharing more information with you as these tools become available.
