ROUND UP for the Middle Fork Greenway
|
The Middle Fork Greenway is a 10-ft wide, paved, 6.5 mile, pedestrian and bicycle friendly Greenway-in-Progress that will connect Blowing Rock to Boone, naturally.
This month Stick Boy and 115+ other local businesses are supporting a community-wide fundraiser to raise money for funding to finish the project. We are asking you to 'Round Up' your purchase to the closest dollar or add a donation to your purchase. The goal is to raise $100K in July from the local businesses to leverage state grants. I don't know about you, but I can't wait to run or ride my bicycle from Boone to Blowing Rock! Lets do this!

Now THIS is a sandwich, and a creative one at that!
It's layered with a healthy dose of our homemade pimento cheese, locally grown bibb lettuce, bacon, and some delicious fried green tomatoes. We add a little heat with a dash of sriracha, and these flavors combined are out of this world. I love the ice cold pimento cheese juxtaposed to the hot fried green tomatoes. Your mouth will be happy with this sandwich. Get it with a side of our hand-cut fries, and you've got yourself a regular southern-style meal.

The amazing Summer Stollen is here and is available EVERY DAY in July. If you haven't tried this signature Stick Boy product, you need to hightail it over to our Stick Boy Bakery location and have a sample. This refreshing loaf is a sweet dough made with butter and eggs and mixed with dried blueberries, cranberries, candied lemon peel and toasted pecans. It's shaped just like our Winter Stollen, and instead of powdered sugar, we finish the Summer Stollen with a fresh blueberry and lemon icing! We'll be making lots and sampling lots of Summer Stollen this week. Come on by!
Summer Stollen ($14) & Stollenettes ($8) are usually made on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and in July they'll be available every day - lucky us!

As always, we mix our breads from scratch, shape them by hand, and bake them in our big German oven, right here in our bakery on Hardin Street. We bake only with unbleached and unbromated flour and never use any additives or preservatives. Come and taste.

We've now got a selection of desserts with fresh picked blueberries from Old Orchard Creek Farm. These blueberries are grown pesticide free and have been sustainably raised right here in the mountains of North Carolina. We are offering the blueberries by the pint in our reach-in cooler (by the front door) and, at Stick Boy Bread, these juicy morsels are going into our Blueberry Cheesecake, Blueberry Pie, Glazed Blueberry Lemon Bread, Blueberry Danish and in the Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake. Also at Stick Boy Kitchen, we're using the blueberries in the Blueberry Farmer Salad. Come by both locations to get your fill of these blueberry products.
