A Heartfelt Thank You to the Central Indiana Community Foundation Senior Fund

We are incredibly grateful to the Central Indiana Community Foundation Senior Fund for their continued support of Still Waters. We recently received crucial funding from them to support our operating costs. This contribution is a huge relief for our center, as it helps sustain our day-to-day operations and maintain the high level of care we provide to our guests.

It's important to note that tuition from our guests covers only 68% of the cost to operate the center. The remaining 32% is made possible through the generosity of grants, individual donors, and fundraising efforts. Thanks to the support from the Central Indiana Community Foundation, we are able to bridge this gap and continue offering our services to those in need.

We deeply appreciate their ongoing commitment to our mission, and we look forward to utilizing these funds to enhance the lives of the seniors we serve.

GIVE TODAY

Introducing Our Beautiful New Gathering Space for Families and Guests

We are thrilled to announce the completion of our new family and guest space at Still Waters! This stunning addition to our center was made possible by the generous donation from Ermco Electrical and the incredible design expertise of Merry Crews. Merry’s creativity and love for design have truly transformed this area into a beautiful and welcoming environment, offering our guests and their families a special place to connect and relax.

This space is truly a gem in our center, offering a serene setting for families to spend meaningful time together. Whether it’s used for private family visits, community gatherings, or simply as a quiet place for guests to unwind, this space fills a much-needed role in our facility. Having a dedicated area where families can gather comfortably is essential in fostering the kind of warm, supportive environment we strive to create.

For many of our families, the challenges of caregiving can feel overwhelming at times. Creating a comfortable, home-like atmosphere allows us to support both our guests and their loved ones, giving them a space where they can feel at ease. This new space not only enhances the physical environment of our center, but it also deepens the emotional and social connections between families and their loved ones.

We are so grateful to Ermco for their kind support and to Merry for her incredible vision in bringing this project to life. This addition is much appreciated by our community and will serve as a place of comfort and joy for many years to come.

We invite you to come and see this beautiful new space for yourself—it's truly a reflection of the loving care we pour into everything we do at Still Waters.

Connections in the Community: Growing Together

As I was pulling data for a recent grant, I was struck by the growth we've experienced over the past two years. In 2022-2023, Still Waters served 57 families, and in 2023-2024, that number jumped to 97 families. This incredible growth is a testament to our robust engagement with the community and the increasing visibility of our center as a trusted resource hub.

Still Waters is more than just a space for seniors—it’s a place where families can turn for support, advice, and resources during some of their most challenging times. We offer a variety of services that extend beyond day-to-day care, including monthly topic sessions, caregiver support groups, and grief sessions. These programs provide essential emotional and practical support for those navigating the complexities of aging and caregiving.

This month, we are further strengthening our community connections by attending several key networking and engagement events:

  • Networking at Traditions at Solana, Brookdale, and Sunrise
  • Women in Business Group
  • Faith Summit at Ivy Tech on November 13 (where we’ll have a table)
  • Caregiver groups with Rachel, Community Noblesville
  • Women in Business on November 15 (sponsored by Hancock County Chamber)
  • Humana Meet and Greet on November 13
  • Dementia Friendly Event on November 20

These events allow us to expand our outreach, build relationships, and continue growing as a vital support system for families in need. We are proud to be an active participant in the community, helping seniors and their families find the resources they need to navigate aging with dignity and care.

Stay tuned for updates on how we continue to strengthen our presence and expand our services to even more families!

Exciting News: Our New Indoor Mobility Park is Underway!

We are beyond thrilled to announce the start of an exciting new addition to our center—our very own Indoor Mobility Park! The build is starting this week, and we can’t wait to share the transformation with all of you. Thanks to the incredible support from OrthoIndy, we will soon have a beautiful indoor space designed specifically for our guests to relax, socialize, and enjoy a range of engaging activities.

This new space will offer a variety of experiences for everyone. Our guests can visit the flower shop, where they’ll be able to enjoy the vibrant colors of the season, or they can meander over to the bakery, filled with the irresistible sights of fresh pastries on display. For those who want a cozy chat with a friend, the bistro will provide the perfect setting to sit and catch up over a cup of coffee. And if they prefer a quieter moment, they can head down to the park, where they can relax on a bench, listen to the soothing sounds of a waterfall, and enjoy reading the day’s newspaper.

This indoor mobility park is more than just a space—it’s a community hub where our guests can experience the joy of connection in a comfortable, accessible environment, rain or shine. We believe this space will enhance our guests' quality of life, giving them a safe, enjoyable place to engage with others, spark conversations, and simply unwind.

We are so grateful to OrthoIndy for making this incredible opportunity possible, and we can’t wait for everyone to experience it. Stay tuned for updates as this amazing transformation unfolds. We know it’s going to be a cherished part of our center for years to come! We plan to have an open house this Spring to unveil all the amazing things we are doing at Still Waters.

Welcoming Western Governors University Nursing Students This Month

We are excited to announce that throughout this month, we will be hosting eight nursing students from Western Governors University. These students will be joining us to complete their community service learning hours, gaining valuable hands-on experience while learning more about working with the senior population.

This collaboration is not only a great educational opportunity for the students, but it’s also a wonderful experience for our guests. Having nursing students in our center allows our seniors to engage in meaningful conversations with the next generation of healthcare professionals. These interactions provide a fresh, youthful energy and spark enriching discussions, creating connections across generations.

For the nursing students, this time spent with our guests will help them develop essential skills in senior care, empathy, and understanding the unique challenges and joys of working with older adults. Many of our guests enjoy sharing their stories and wisdom with the students, helping bridge the gap between generations and fostering a deeper understanding of the senior community.

At Still Waters, we take pride in offering a welcoming environment for students to learn and grow. We believe these experiences will not only contribute to the students’ future education but also inspire them to approach senior care with compassion and insight. This partnership enriches the lives of everyone involved, and we look forward to watching these nursing students grow in their professional journey.

We are always grateful for opportunities like this that promote learning, connection, and mutual benefit for both our guests and the broader community. Be sure to welcome these bright future nurses when you see them around the center this month!
