School Bus
There is still time to think about giving
your little one a taste of school!
Community Education plays a critical role in helping young people grow. Questions often arise about the best ways to nurture and care for children as they grow from infants to toddlers, and then preparing to board the school bus on the first day of kindergarten.

Take a look at the wide range of opportunities to meet your child and your families changing needs and interests:
Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)
Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) offers classes, events, playtimes and other opportunities designed to give families information, ideas and skills to support their child's growth and development from birth to kindergarten.

Anoka-Hennepin Schools Preschool
Licensed preschool teachers attend joint staff development sessions with elementary school teachers to closely align curriculum goals and academic progress. In addition, Anoka-Hennepin School District early learning and preschool programs use a common assessment tool to evaluate student learning, which is aligned with district-wide kindergarten-readiness benchmarks.

School-year Adventures Bound
Adventures Plus is offering a new, all-day child care program infused with the preschool curriculum for four-year-old children. There are still openings at Brookside Elementary and Ramsey Elementary Schools. Experienced and friendly child care staff will lead the Adventures Bound program and utilize a research-based curriculum that features hands-on exploration and discovery as a way of learning.

Preschool enrichment
Community Schools coordinates athletic, recreational, enrichment and arts activities for preschool-aged children at schools across the district, year-round. Classes and activities are designed to encourage participation and independence; while parent/child opportunities are also offered for when a child may need additional assistance with participation or completing a project.

Aquatics and swimming lessons
Parent/child and preschool-aged swimming lessons are offered year-round at Roosevelt Community Pool so children may learn how to swim through fun activities which will help them feel comfortable in the water and build a foundation of basic aquatic and water safety skills. Fall lessons begin Sept. 29.
