BUY BLACK! When Dr. Frederick D. Haynes III, of Friendship-West Baptist Church, announced 100 Days of Buying Black in acknowledging the 100th Commemoration of the Tulsa Race Massacre, a year ago, we joined the movement. December 31, 2021 marked 100 days of featuring Black Businesses, and we decided that the struggle continues and we must also. So enjoy reading about more Black-owned businesses and please support. We're still going strong today and we also received recognition from the National Newspaper Publishers Association for our efforts!

OUR VOICES
Some Politicians Confuse Freedom
with Irresponsibility
|
By Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Jr.
As extreme weather caused floods in Kentucky, collapse of the water system in Jackson Mississippi, and the savage destruction of central Florida – to say nothing of fires and drought and a growing water shortage in the West – we ought to agree on two simple realities: America faces a growing challenge from both catastrophic climate change and a growing infrastructure deficit that is putting lives and communities at risk.

As Vice President of Strategy and Engagement with PSE, Alvarado talked with The Black Wall Street Times about initiatives taking place to address the increasingly frequent and community destroyer that is climate change.

DA candidate vows to seek death penalty for Methodist shooter, incumbent
says he might
Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot has not sought the death penalty while in office. He’s considering it for the Methodist hospital shooter while his opponent commits.
|
The Republican candidate for Dallas County District Attorney, Faith Johnson, vowed to pursue the death penalty, if elected, for the man accused of killing two Methodist Dallas Medical Center employees Saturday. “Based on ... the reports that’s coming out now with that Methodist hospital shooting, I will seek the death penalty on that case,” Johnson said in a candidate forum Friday hosted by the League of Women Voters of Dallas and the North Texas Commission.

Former Prisoners Offer Training to Youth on How to End Hostilities on the Streets
NNPA Newswire/BlackPressUSA
By Oakland Post Staff
An exclusive interview with Minister King X with the Post Staff and Richard Johnson
Minister King X, also known as Pyeface, said he was inspired by Richard Johnson’s call to the community to have former gang leaders and formerly incarcerated persons to spread the word through our networks with the message that these shootings and violence activities will unwittingly play into the hands of those who want to incarcerate them as the only solution.

The Path
As we walk through life's journey, we leave footprints. Some just show where we are going. Others redirect us when we get lost. Still others remain to guide those we leave behind. I see your footprints.
Will you/they see mine?
