Board of Finance Approves Bid Waiver to Resume Playground Repairs

On Tuesday, November 26, the Board of Finance held a special session to reconsider the bid waiver required to continue work on the Stillmeadow Playground. The Board of Finance approved the bid waiver in a 4-0-2 vote .

Repairs will resume this week, weather permitting.
Zumba Night is Tuesday, December 3

Join Stillmeadow’s Third Grade Teachers for a fun night of fitness led by licensed Zumba instructor Paula Ressa .
 
This class is open to ages 18 and up.
 
$10 per person at the door.

Stillmeadow Holiday Fair is December 11-13

The annual Stillmeadow Holiday Fair is next week! Holiday Fair is an opportunity for students to purchase holiday gifts for the special people in their lives.

  • Students shop with their class during school hours.

  • The Holiday Fair will be open during Report Card Conferences

  • This year's fair includes a wide variety of gifts - including Stillmeadow apparel, drink ware and key chains - priced from $1 to $10 each

  • Proceeds benefit Stillmeadow
Volunteer Opportunity: Parents and family members are needed to set up and staff the Holiday Fair. One-hour shifts are available throughout the week.
Nutcracker Ticket Order Forms Due December 4

The Connecticut Ballet is offering Stamford Public Schools a special block of tickets to The Nutcracker on December 21 and December 22.

Tickets are $48 each. A portion of every ticket sold by Stillmeadow PFO will benefit our school.

Return order form with payment by Wednesday, December 4.
Students Needed for Stillmeadow
Odyssey of the Mind Team

Stillmeadow is forming an Odyssey of the Mind Team for students in Grades 3-5. The team will meet immediately after school on Fridays for 8-10 weeks beginning December 6.

Odyssey of the Mind  (TM) is the largest international creative problem-solving competition in the world. Each student team is faced with a long-term problem and a spontaneous challenge using STEAM concepts, which also incorporates the use of critical thinking skills, creativity and teamwork.
Lizzy Rockwell to Visit K-2 Students
Book Order Forms Due Tuesday, December 3

Author/Illustrator Lizzy Rockwell returns to Stillmeadow on December 9 to share her new book – How Do You Feel – with students in grades K-2. 

Families may order a copy of How Do You Feel ($19, hardcover) to be autographed by Ms. Rockwell when she visits Stillmeadow. This is a wonderful opportunity to get an autographed, inscribed copy of a children’s book for your child.

Long-Term School Facilities Plan Meeting is December 5

Stamford Public Schools is hosting a second community meeting about the proposed Public-Private Partnership Plan to address long-term facilities needs at Cloonan Middle School, Westhill High School, and Hart, Roxbury and Toquam Elementary Schools.

The meeting is Thursday, December 5 at 6 pm at Strawberry Hill School.
After School Enrichment Registration Opens December 2
Registration for Winter 2020 After School Enrichment classes opens tomorrow at 7 am.

The Winter 2020 After School Enrichment Schedule offers something for every every grade level and interest.

Classes are open to all students, including those in the ROSCCO after school program. Scholarships available for qualifying students.

Classes begin the week of January 13.

Join the Fourth Grade Chorus and Fifth Grade Instrumentalists for an evening of music! The public performance of the Stillmeadow Winter Concert is Thursday, December 19 at 7 pm.

All Stillmeadow families and friends are invited to attend.

(Note: The Winter Concert will be presented during the school day for student audiences.)
