Parent Workshop: Understanding Reading Assessments

Mrs. Grant and Mrs. Roata are hosting a workshop to help parents understand the various reading assessments (DIBELS, TRC, RI) administered to Stillmeadow Students and how to support reading at home. This is your chance to ask questions about reading assessments and learn strategies to encourage reading outside the classroom.

In addition, Mrs. Nathanson will review the various digital resources that are available to your child.

To accommodate as many families as possible, this workshop will be offered twice during the report card conference period:

  • Wednesday, December 12th at 1pm or
  • Thursday, December 13th at 2pm

RSVP to Mrs. Grant using the form in your child's home folder or download a copy here.

Stillmeadow Artwork Chosen for Mayor's Holiday Cards

Last week, Mayor David Martin and Stamford Public Schools Superintendent Earl Kim announced the winners of the 2018 Holiday Greeting Card Competition.

Mayor Martin chose artwork by Stillmeadow Elementary School First Grader Sam Fields for his holiday card. Artwork by Stillmeadow kindergarten student Janelly Monroy Quijada was selected as one of two runners-up for Superintendent Kim's greeting card. Both Sam and Janelly are students of Ms. Kelly Dugan.

Each year, the superintendent and mayor ask art teachers from Stamford Public Schools to submit student work for consideration. This year's winners were selected from among more than 100 elementary school student submissions.

Congratulations Sam, Janelly and Ms. Dugan!
