Where:        Media Center (Main Floor)

Please join us for our first general PFO Meeting of the year! We look forward to a conversation with Mrs. Asaro, all parents are invited to ask questions and join the discussion. We will also be reviewing the PFO budget for 2018-19.

Note: A Spanish-language interpreter will be available for this meeting.

A spooktacular costume party is coming to Stillmeadow 
this Friday, October 26 from 6:30–8:30 pm.

The cost is $5 per person and advance registration is required.

Complete and return the   registration form   to your child’s teacher as soon as possible!

  • Stillmeadow families only.

  • Register now – this event sells out!

  • Tickets will NOT be sold at the door.

  • Children MUST BE accompanied by an adult.

  • No scary masks or toy weapons.

Box Tops Classroom Challenge Ends Friday!

Y ou can earn funds for Stillmeadow from items you buy every day . Send in the Box Tops you have collected over the last few months to raise money for the school and help your classroom win a prize!

T he Box Tops for Education Classroom Challenge is October 15 - 26.

The classroom from each grade that turns in the most Box Tops during this period will win a special prize!

Please read this letter from MaryBeth Woods and c lick for Box Tops collection sheets.

Submit your Box Tops using the collection sheet, and send extra Box Tops in a plastic baggie. Be sure to include your child’s name and teacher’s name on all sheets and/or baggies in order to receive credit towards the competition.

Box tops must be submitted by October 26th to be included in the classroom competition.

...Theresa Baker for organizing (and re-organizing) Family Photo Day at Fort Stamford Park. Thanks to Theresa's resourcefulness and flexibility, we were able to get beautiful pictures of many Stillmeadow families, while raising over $1,000 for the PFO!

...Kathleen Steinberg for coordinating School Pictures this past Friday, and also to the teachers for helping shuttle kids through the lines so parents can have these keepsakes for years to come!
Meet the Board of Education Candidates: Wednesday, October 24
 
Three of nine seats on the Stamford Public Schools Board of Education are up for at-large election on November 6, 2018.  

Anyone interested in learning more about the BOE candidates is encouraged to attend the 2018 Angela Lorenti Memorial Board of Education Candidates Forum :

Wednesday, October 24 from 7 to 9 pm at the Stamford Government Center .
888 Washington Blvd 5th floor

Candidates running for the Board of Education will be stating their positions and responding to questions at this event, which is hosted by the Parent Teacher Council of Stamford. 
Stillmeadow School Halloween Parade

Families are invited to watch the Stillmeadow Halloween Parade on Wednesday, October 31 at 9:30 am

  • Parade will take place outdoors around the athletic field adjacent to the lower playground. In case of inclement weather, parade will take place indoors.

  • Families are invited to view the parade from the perimeter of the athletic field.

  • Children should bring their costumes to school on Halloween; they will change into their costumes before the parade.

  • Students may wear friendly, non violent costumes

  • Visitors should park in designated parking spots or at the church next door
FREE Book Giveaway! Saturday, October 27

Who:  Students in Grades K-5
What: Haunted Halloween Book Giveaway
When:  Saturday, October 27 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm
Where:  Ferguson Library 3rd Floor Auditorium

Please come by the Ferguson Library on Saturday November 3rd for a Haunted Halloween Book Giveaway!

Students Pre-K through 5th grade and their families will enjoy:

  • Selecting New Books for building their home libraries

  • Hearing Spooky Stories read by Stamford Public School principals

  • Participating in a Costume Parade (at 3:30 pm). Dress up and join in the fun as we parade through the Ferguson!

  • Halloween Crafts, Music, Raffle, Halloween Snacks, and more!

Incoming Kindergarten Information Nights
 
Attention Pre-K parents!

Please join Stamford Public Schools Early Childhood Specialists as they lead a discussion on preparing your preschooler for the transition to kindergarten. 

Topics discussed include the registration process, a typical kindergarten day, specifics about meals and buses, how to know if your child is ready and a question and answer period.

Fall Volunteer Opportunities

We need your help to staff or donate items for our Fall 2018 events. Click the links below to review volunteer opportunities and sign up.

Halloween Hop   (October 26) Help us plan/execute this very popular costume party! We are looking parents to help with set up/clean up, sign in, and running games and crafts. Volunteers work in shifts, so you can enjoy the party too! 

5th Grade Halloween Hop   (October 26) We are planning to sell baked goods, pizza, waters, chips and plushies at the Halloween Hop. Proceeds will help pay for our 5th grad field trips. We need your donations and time to make this successful! Anyone who would like to help the 5th graders is welcome to volunteer.

Turkey Bingo   (November 16) Volunteers are needed to donate gift baskets for the raffle. Volunteers are also needed to staff this event, including help with check-in and selling raffle tickets, food and spirit wear.

Holiday Fair  (December 11-14) More information coming soon!
