Stone County Economic Development

Update

A Note From Economic Development Director, Jeremy Goggans

What Makes Stone County Special? Its People.

Stone County's beauty is easy to recognize. Table Rock Lake, the James River, and our Ozark hills draw people here to explore, relax, and build a life. But what truly makes Stone County special is its people.

You see that in business owners who invest in their employees and properties, educators who help students discover their potential, volunteers who give their time, and community leaders willing to tackle challenges.

Some contributions are visible. Others happen quietly through a donation, a conversation, or a willingness to lend a hand.

Lasting progress doesn't happen by accident. It takes people who care enough to get involved and take responsibility for the communities they call home.

To everyone who contributes to Stone County through your investment, service, leadership, or everyday kindness, thank you. Our landscape brings people here. Your commitment makes this a place where people want to stay.

People. Place. Progress.

Launch Stone County Shares Economic Development Updates with Investors

Economic development is a team effort, and Launch Stone County is fortunate to have investors and partners who believe in the future of our communities.

Our 45+ investors represent a wide range of public and private organizations, from the Stone County Commission and local municipalities to small businesses and large employers. These investors provide resources that support countywide economic development efforts, while municipal, education, utility, and business partners contribute their knowledge, relationships, and time.

At the recent Launch Stone County Investor Brunch, investors gathered to hear updates on the program's strategies, priorities, and ongoing efforts to strengthen Stone County's economy. The event was held at the Table Rock Career Center, with Culinary Arts students preparing and providing catering services for attendees.

Together, these partnerships help us respond to business needs, strengthen connections, and prepare Stone County for new opportunities.

Thank you to the investors and partners who help move Stone County forward. Your commitment is making a difference.

Our Stone County Action Plan Set for November 9 Release

Two important initiatives are working to strengthen the future of Stone County, each with a different focus.

Launch Stone County, the economic development initiative of the Table Rock Lake Chamber of Commerce, focuses on business growth, workforce development, housing, tourism, and community development. Our Stone County is a separate, community-led coalition focused on improving quality of life through affordable housing, water quality and conservation, and community gathering spaces.

While the two initiatives have different missions, they work together to address shared challenges and support a stronger Stone County.

On November 9, Our Stone County will release its 10-year Action Plan, developed with input from residents, businesses, local governments, and nonprofit organizations. The plan outlines 38 projects, including residential well testing, downtown improvements, housing assistance, trails, parks, and water infrastructure improvements.

Some projects are expected to begin as early as 2027, while others represent longer-term investments in Stone County's future.
