Stone Gate Farm Horse Trials

Important Update

With less than a week to Closing Date, entries a extremely low and I'm working on a contingency plan so that we can still run the event and not lose money. I have already moved the FEH classes to Saturday the the Starters were already scheduled to run that day. I have posted that, if entries warrant, we may run the Beginner Novice, Novice, Training and Prelim as a one day on Sunday. After running the numbers today it looks like we could run ALL divisions and the FEH as a one day and still have room for additional entries, although they may be limited.

I need to confirm this new schedule with the officials, one of which has to cancel a flight, and cancel one judge altogether. The volunteer schedule needs to be reworked and the USEF needs to be notified in a timely fashion. Therefore, I need to make the decision sooner than later.

Since all the competitors were planning on competing on Saturday it makes sense to run as a ONE day on Saturday. Additionally, I just found out that I need to go Lake Erie College on Saturday evening to receive an award.

Based on the current entries, we should have room for anyone who still would like to enter. On grounds stalls and tack stalls are also available at this time. Any competitor who would like to stay over and school on Sunday would be welcome to do so.

In order to provide a quality event we will still need volunteers and people to sign up to decorate fences. We had planned on upgrading some cross country fences, but fewer entries means fewer funds so we will be limited to giving some of the older fences a fresh look. If anyone is available between now and then please let me know. It still takes as much time to prepare the grounds for 50 riders as it does 150 riders and I must admit the low entries does not inspire me to do all that work without a little help.
