Welcome our newest advisory board member, Dr. Hyunkag Cho!
Dr. Hyunkag Cho is an associate professor in the School of Social Work at Michigan State University. His research has focused on intimate partner violence (IPV), with a specific emphasis on help-seeking behaviors among IPV victims, including immigrants. Rigorous data collection from ethnic minority communities and collaboration with culturally competent scholars are emphasized through his research. He has worked with a local domestic violence shelter to develop service protocols for those with limited English Proficiency and served as an interpreter for Korean American survivors.
Meet Our New Public Relations Intern, Sherry Gardiner!
Sherry’s role as a public relations intern includes sending out press releases, scheduling media interviews, marketing, planning events, networking, and
reaching out to other organizations with a similar mission. She is currently looking for venues for our next fundraiser. 

She joined this internship to get her foot in the door as a start on her journey to obtain a career in public relations. She hopes to gain valuable skills and experience that will help her secure a job when she graduates. She also joined the internship to experience the fun and excitement that the SAFE internship provides to their interns!

Sherry’s future goals are to graduate by next year with her Bachelor’s degree and land a position in public relations.

FUN FACT: Sherry is passionate about animals and hopes that she can incorporate her future career to help animals!
