2019 Florida Minimum Wage Poster Update
The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity announced that the 2019 Florida minimum wage will be increased from $8.25 to $8.46 per hour, effective January 1, 2019. The agency is mandated to calculate a minimum wage rate each year based on the percentage increase in the federal Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers in the South Region for the 12-month period prior to September 1, 2018. IRS Delays Deadline to Furnish Form 1095-C
On November 30, the IRS announced that it moved back the deadlines for when employers must furnish Forms 1095-C and 1095-B in early 2019. The new deadline is: Employers with 50 or more full-time employees (including full-time equivalent employees) shall furnish a Form 1095-C to all full-time employees no later than March 4, 2019. FREE On the Job Training (OJT) Funds
Did you know? Florida companies are eligible for FREE training funds called "On the Job Training." Your company gets reimbursed up to 50% of the costs to train certain new employees. CareerSource offices (including Tampa Bay) manage the program and help businesses save money while training promising new hires. Get Prepared to Complete 2018 OSHA 300 Log
At the end of December (unless exempt from OSHA recordkeeping), employers with more than 10 employees should finish entering any recordable injury cases from 2018 (cases should be entered on the OSHA 300 log within 7 days of event) on the OSHA 300 Log. During December, we recommend that you verify that only recordable cases are maintained on the OSHA 300 log. After January 1, your injury data will be added to the OSHA 300A Summary Form before posting on February 1, and some employers are required to report the data online to OSHA.
