Dear Friends,
This July, we’re lifting up stories of strength, service, and support across Virginia. From a peer-led recovery home in Buena Vista to a faith-based maternity program in Richmond, I continue to be moved by the everyday heroes who remind us that hope is never out of reach.

These are the moments that fuel our mission. Whether it's honoring lives lost, supporting mothers in crisis, or equipping communities with life-saving tools, Virginians are stepping forward to protect one another. You’ll read more in this month’s newsletter about our growing momentum and the powerful impact of partnership.
I invite you to join us as we look ahead to two important observances in August: National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day and International Overdose Awareness Day. Your voice—and your presence—matters.

A Beacon of Hope in Buena Vista:
The First Lady Visits HOPE House
| | |
In the heart of Buena Vista, First Lady Youngkin recently visited HOPE House—a peer-led recovery residence that offers 24/7 support to men rebuilding their lives after substance use disorders. Her visit underscored the Administration’s ongoing commitment to transforming Virginia’s crisis care system and uplifting stories of resilience, healing, and second chances.
HOPE House isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a lifeline run by those who have walked the same path. The residence offers more than just shelter, it provides purpose, structure, and connection. With the support of peers who understand the journey to recovery, residents are empowered to reclaim their lives and futures.
The First Lady’s visit shined a spotlight on the incredible impact of community-based recovery. HOPE House stands as a powerful reminder that recovery is possible—and that hope can be restored when we meet people where they are, with compassion and care.
If you or someone you love is struggling, call 2-1-1 to find support services near you.

| | Standing United Against Fentanyl | | |
This month, Governor Glenn Youngkin joined President Donald Trump at the White House for the signing of the HALT Fentanyl Act, introduced by Virginia’s own Congressman Morgan Griffith. This legislation marks another critical step in our national fight against the fentanyl crisis.
Virginia has led the way in combatting this deadly poison by interrupting the drug trade, educating families that It Only Takes One pill to kill, expanding enforcement tools, and equipping communities with the resources needed to save lives. We are proud to have strong federal partners who are just as committed to eradicating fentanyl and protecting our families.
Together, we will continue to fight for prevention, awareness, and hope.
