Congratulations to the winners of the

Stanardsville Business Launch Pitch Competition!

Congratulations to the winners of the Stanardsville Business Launch Pitch Competition! Of the 30 businesses who applied to participate in this Greene County competition, 6 finalists pitched for $60,000 in grant money to locate their business in the Town of Stanardsville. Finalists completed 8 weeks of training, received their Business Essentials Training Certificates, and worked with Central VA SBDC Business Advisors to develop their business plans and prepare their pitch presentations.

Virginia Farmers Market Food Safety Summit Recordings now available!


Food is a complicated business in Virginia, regulated by the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS). Recently, the Virginia Farmers Market organization put together this Summit which includes a current, thorough overview of food service requirements in VA. Applicable to anyone interested in starting food, restaurant, catering or farmers market business, we highly recommend reviewing these recordings.

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

eBay is giving back to the small businesses powering America. In partnership with Hello Alice, eBay is awarding more than $500,000 in grants and education resources to help small businesses stay up and running into 2024 and beyond. The eBay Up & Running Grant program will award 50 eBay business sellers with grant packages of $10,000, including cash, eBay education, and a $500 stipend sellers can use to equip themselves with essential office technology from eBay Refurbished. Applications for the current round are open through June 7, 2024, at 6 p.m. ET. Drought Disaster Recovery Loan Applications due July 1


Federal Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) are available in Virginia for small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private nonprofit organizations with economic losses due to the drought conditions that began on Sept. 5, 2023.

The declaration includes Augusta, Culpeper, Greene, and Madison counties in Virginia; the contiguous counties of Albemarle, Bath, Fauquier, Highland, Nelson, Orange, Page, Rappahannock, Rockbridge, Rockingham, Spotsylvania, Stafford, Staunton, and Waynesboro in Virginia; completed loan applications must be submitted by 7/1/24.
