Picture day has been rescheduled to Sunday March 25th at Valencia High School.the same time schedule will be used.

Tonight is our lap-a thon please read details below and arrive at 5:30

Spikes Athletes may begin using spike shoes at practice this week. Their coaches will let them know when to put them on, They are never allowed to warm up in them. Please make sure they are on the field, if they want to use them.
If you bought new spike shoes this year, they did not come with the correct spikes. All our tracks use 3/16 NEEDLE only spikes. We will have the correct spikes at practice for $3.00 per set, please bring correct change if you need a new set of spikes for your shoes.

Fleet Feet Shoe Store will be at Practice today if you would like to purchase spike shoes!

Our Storm Store - all orders will be available at practice tonight for pick up! The Store will be open until March 10th for orders.

Parents please try to arrive 15 minutes early for pick up, in case practice ends early.
This Monday is our Lap-a-thon March 5, please try to arrive at 5:30 to pick up your chip. We will be using our chip timing system to count the laps.
We need 4-6 parents to help hand out tags at the beginning of practice and 3-4 to help hand out a treat at the end of Practice .

We are excited about each and every athlete participating in the lap-a-thon.

On Monday March 5th during practice, athletes will run or walk laps on the track for thirty five minutes. This is a very fun event for the kids and an important fundraiser for our team. Money from this event keeps our registration fee low and helps us provide equipment for our training and meets.

This is a music-motivated event; singing along, running to the tempo! Oh WAIT! YOU’RE NOT A DISTANCE RUNNER NOT important! This is a fundraiser not a race ~ run or walk/dance, create an half hour-long relay team! Challenge yourself! Just recruit your donations accordingly! The more per athlete sponsors you get the more donations! There are 2 ways for sponsors to support our athletes, one is a per lap donation such as $5.00 per lap for you distance runners; the other is simply a flat donation of any amount, for example $20.00 or $30.00.

Our team will acknowledge those who raise the most funds and all participants in this event. A Grand Prize will be awarded to the top athlete who raise the most funds for the club. this year has not yet been determined!!

If for some reason you are unable to participate the night of the event, families are encouraged to OPT OUT by giving a tax-deductible donation of $40.00 payable to the SCTC. This is our major team fundraiser and requires everybody’s support.

The due date to turn in the funds is March 29, 2018. Flat donations can be turned in immediately. Prizes will be awarded based on the most funds raised and turned in by March 29th, 2018. Funds will still be accepted after that date but won’t count towards the grand prizes, but will go towards the Storm Lap-a-thon acknowledgement prize.

Mock Meet Day Schedule
Mock Meet Information – PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS

This weekend is the Mock/Practice Meet, we use this to get a beginning time for all the athletes, but more importantly we use this to train you and our staff on how to run a meet. There are no ribbons or records for this meet, as it is still practice but the results will be posted.
Below is a schedule of our mock meet, we won’t be able to do all events, but we will try to do as many as we can between 8:00 am – 1:30 pm.
8:00 am

When Athletes arrive go to center of field
Parent go to Stands to find out about Volunteer opportunities & training.
We will be using Sign-Up-Genie to help manage our volunteerism. Please use the following link to sign up for volunteering for this meet via sign up genie  [Click Here to Sign Up] – You will also get an email from our sign up genie system later this week. 
Be sure your child brings extra water as it’s supposed to be very warm. We will not set up a water table for this meet.
Make sure your child wears their uniform.

Field Events – Modified Event – 1 measured mark only
Long Jump:  Sub-Gremlins/Gremlins, Midgets, Youth and Inter., Bantams
High Jump:  Bantam, Midget, Youth and Inter.
Shot Put:  Youth and Inter., Bantam, Midgets

Running event, we will start with Sub Gremlins and work our way up to youth and Inter.

2. Lap-a-thon
Our lap-a-thon fund raiser will be held on March 5th at Saugus High School during practice. PLEASE ARRIVE AT 5:30 FOR CHECK IN We will need parents to help mark laps during the event. Parents and siblings are invited to run also! we will have practice after the lap a thon for all ages except gremlins. The will finish at about 7:00 all others will finish at regular time.
3. California Pizza Kitchen
Our California Pizza Kitchen fund raiser will be on April 10 all day. We will have a flyer that you must take with you and give to them at the time you order. Dine In or Take Out, enjoy a great meal!!
