Storm Related Information
Informative Central Hudson Press Release
Dear Friends & Neighbors:

In light of the pending storm we thought it might be helpful to send out a recent Press Release form Central Hudson that is full of good information in regards to storm preparation and where to go to get information during a power outage, just in case you don't have it saved. Most important: stay 30' away from all downed power lines!

Union Vale will be joining the municipal calls with all Town Supervisors and Mayors that have been established by Central Hudson and will be established by Dutchess County if storm conditions warrant. Results of those calls will be posted on our Town website and sent out via UnionValeMail. As we did the winter before last, if power outages are extended we will react accordingly and open Town Hall for re-charging cell phones and as a place you can come to warm up. This will hold true for the rest of the winter.

The best advice we have during a forecasted storm such as this is to stock up and stay off the roads (please!) - it enables the Highway Departments (State, County & Town) to do their jobs more efficiently. If there is a tree down and blocking the road in your neighborhood, please notify Richard Wisseman at (845) 629-6519.

If you are worried about a neighbor's health or safety, please call 911. Our emergency personnel are on standby. Town Hall will be open on Monday, as usual, so let us know if you have concerns not covered here.

Be safe everyone!
