Running Events: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 4x100m, 4x400m 80m Hurdles,
100m Hurdles
Field Events: Running Long Jump, Shot Put, High Jump. 
Track is the one sport that is good training for all sports, whether its Football, Basketball, Soccer, or Baseball, Track & Field will improve your speed, endurance and coordination.

This is a very busy week as we are trying to get all fundraising and other events done before  our  competitive season starts!! PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE NEWSLETTER. We need 4 to 6 parents to volunteer for lap a thon tomorrow!! 

All merchandise orders will be ready for pick up today

Please be on time to pick up you children after practice. It is very cold and the coaches need to get home with their families too! Parents should arrive no later than

WE NEED All BIRTH CERTIFICATES  NOW!! Mark Cruz will be calling all who still need them turned in. 

Fleet Feet will be at practice with shoes this Monday!! 

We have a spike loaner box with assorted slightly used shoes. If you would like to borrow them please check it out by the gate. Also if you have spikes that you no longer use please donate for us to share. 

All spikes that come with the shoes are the incorrect size and shape for our track. THEY MUST BE CHANGED. I have the correct 3/16 needle spikes needed. the cost is $3.00 per set. Please bring exact change.

Parents please try to arrive 15 minutes early for pick up, in case practice ends early. It is very cold for the athletes to wait, Please be on time for pick up!!

Field Events and specialty events have started. If your athletes want to try an event make sure they let their coaches know. All athletes are encouraged to try any event!!
 Lap-a-thon - March 6 @ Saugus 5:30 
This Monday is our Lap-a-thon March 6, please try to arrive at 5:30 to pick up your chip. We will be using our chip timing system to count the laps.
We need 4-6 parents to help hand out tags at the beginning of practice and 3-4 to help hand out a treat at the end of Practice.

We are excited about each and every athlete participating in the lap-a-thon.
On Monday March 6 during practice, athletes will run or walk laps on the track for thirty five minutes. This is a very fun event for the kids and an important fundraiser for our team. Money from this event keeps our registration fee low and helps us provide equipment for our training and meets.
This is a music-motivated event; singing along, running to the tempo! Oh WAIT! YOU'RE NOT A DISTANCE RUNNER NOT important! This is a fundraiser not a race ~ run or walk/dance, create an half hour-long relay team! Challenge yourself! Just recruit your donations accordingly! The more per athlete sponsors you get the more donations! There are 2 ways for sponsors to support our athletes, one is a per lap donation such as $5.00 per lap for you distance runners; the other is simply a flat donation of any amount, for example $20.00 or $30.00.
Our team will acknowledge those who raise the most funds and all participants in this event. A Grand Prize will be awarded to the top athlete who raise the most funds for the club. this year it is 2 Disney Land Passes!! 
If for some reason you are unable to participate the night of the event, families are encouraged to OPT OUT by giving a tax-deductible donation of $40.00 payable to the SCTC. This is our major team fundraiser and requires everybody's support.
The due date to turn in the funds is April 6, 2017. Flat donations can be turned in immediately. Prizes will be awarded based on the most funds raised and turned in by April 6, 2017. Funds will still be accepted after that date but won't count towards the grand prizes, but will go towards the Storm Lap-a-thon acknowledgement prize.

Picture Day 
Lens We will be taking pictures on Saturday due to the size of the team we will have the athletes arrive in shifts. We will need a few parents to help check the athletes in. 

If you have kids in multiple age groups you should arrive at the earliest time. (Groups shots will be taken during the age groups time). You may come anytime for individual pictures if you can not make your group time.
All athletes are to arrive in uniformPlease be sure you have picked up your uniform this week if you have not yet done so.

Youth & Older 1:30 pm
Coaches and Board of Directors please wear your coaches shirt, your group shot is at 12:45 pm.

Merchandise will be available for pick up this week on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at practice. All warm ups will be ready!!
Calendar on Website
There is a calendar on our web site that has most of the practice and meet info on it. It is tentative and will be updated weekly. The schools some times make changes so please remember it is subject to change but we will try to keep it updated as much as possible every week.  
Jelly Beans & Jolly Ranchers
Jelly Beans Parents we ask that you bring 2 bags of jelly beans or Jolly Ranchers.
At the end of each practice we give the kids a few jelly beans as a treat. For the kids with braces, we give them a Jolly Rancher. The kids must be heading out the gate in order to get them.  
Twenty-Five Score Cards
STORM's first Fundraiser is here! The 25 Score Card is good at over 1000 merchants throughout SCV and LA including Jersey Mike's, Vincenzo's, Buca Di Beppo, Coldstone, Mountasia, Menchies, Color Me Mine, Office Max and so many more plus three's a Mobil app you can download with it too!

The cards will be $20 each! We are asking that each family be responsible for 2 cards at least (more if you can) can keep one for the family, sell both off, give them away to clients. Whatever is good for your family but we are requiring 2 cards per household.

There will be a Board Member at most practices with cards available and Team Roster to confirm your participation throughout the month of March.
