Be Prepared for Anything!

Dear Members & Friends,

The Joint Information Center (JIC) has been partially activated for Tropical Storm Champi. Today at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 16, 2026, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero placed our island in Condition of Readiness 2, which indicates that sustained winds of over 74 mph or greater are possible within 24 hours.

In an abundance of caution, we urge all Chamber members and residents to prepare their homes and businesses for the possibility of severe weather conditions in the next few days.

Please see the links below for helpful resources as you prepare for the storm.

The Government of Guam uses a four-level Condition of Readiness (COR) system to measure the threat level of approaching tropical storms and typhoons. Note conditions below for your reference.

Condition I: A typhoon is expected to hit or is currently hitting the island within 12 hours (residents must remain indoors)

Condition III: A typhoon or tropical storm may hit the island within 48 hours (destructive or 39+ mph winds expected). Begin active preparations. Government operations continue as normal under COR 3.

Condition II: A typhoon is expected to hit the island within 24 hours. Rush to finalize all preparations before damaging winds & rain.

Condition IV: Guam is in this baseline state year-round; a typhoon may develop and hit the island within 72 hours. Business as usual.
