Story Stroll, Pool Stays Open, Golf, GO! Skokie +
(September 4, 2020) The Skokie Park District is now in Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan. The following are reminders and updates for this week. 
 
Destination Feature
Small But Mighty! Weber Park Golf Course

People of all ages are re-discovering one of the great golf courses convenient to Skokie. The beautifully landscaped, 9-hole par-3 Weber Park Golf Course is small but mighty, ideal for learning to play golf or for serious golfers looking to work on their short game. Play a round in one hour or play 18 holes in two hours. The course features challenging holes with bent grass greens. 

FootGolf
The course is also home to the game of FootGolf, a golf and soccer hybrid sport with giant holes and a very small learning curve.

Through September 27
   Daily, 7 a.m. to one hour prior to sunset
September 28 to November 25
   Daily, 8 a.m. to one hour prior to sunset

Residents - $10 / Non-residents - $12

The course is located behind the Weber Leisure Center and the Skatium Ice Arena on the northwest side of Skokie at 9350 Weber Park Place. Call ahead for tee times: (847) 674-1500, ext. 3600.


Story Stroll: Gross Point Park, September 8-13

Free! Beginning Tuesday, September 8, bring the family to Gross Point Park and read the wonderful children's book, "Remarkably You" by Pat Zietlow Miller. The book pages will be laminated and attached to kiosks along the park path. As you stroll along the trail, you will be directed to the next page in the story. Enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time!

And remember, through this Sunday, September 6, Central Park is hosting Story Stroll, featuring "The Great Kapok Tree: A Tale of the Amazon Rain Forest" by Lynne Cherry.

In pursuit of improving the overall health of the community, the Skokie Park District is asking those who live and work in Skokie to commit to walk or move for at least 30 minutes per day during the month of September. All ages welcome!

Participate in our very own virtual 5K! 
Run it all at once or over multiple days. Use the actual course or create your own. 
 
Complete the run and receive a 5K t-shirt. Fastest times receive a medal.
