In 2022, Story Construction became 100% employee-owned through an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP). In following common practice for ESOP companies, two non-employees were added to Story's board of directors - a first in the company's 90 year history.

Story Construction's most recent design-build project provides California-based Pivot Bio with new digs at the ISU Research Park.

Story Construction managed construction of the new stadium, a partnership between Des Moines Public Schools and Drake University.

The renovations provide a revitalized space for Simpson College's teacher education program as well as new mechanical, electrical, plumbing and finishes throughout the building.
