VOLUNTEERS

We love having parent volunteers in the classroom and on field trips. It is our policy (A & B) to require all volunteers that may be alone with a student for any given amount of time to be fingerprinted for a background check. If you'd like to participate in field trips or volunteer in the future, please connect with Heather Cook in the office to pick up the forms required before going to the PD for fingerprinting. The background check takes 6-8 weeks, so please keep that in mind, as no volunteers will be allowed to participate without the background check completed.

PICK UP LINE

As a reminder, the pick up and drop off line is one-way. Please enter by the police station, stay to the right before turning left to go around the lower lot and then up the hill to the school. Please do not block the exit out of the lower lot and pull up to the two drop off spots at the school. Please have your students ready to get out of the car to ensure a quick drop off for everyone. Thank you for helping to keep this a safe process.

Friday!

A Message from the School Nurse - Mrs. Jamie Clark

Just a Reminder

We are still following NH DHHS/CDC recommendations and asking parents to test for ANY new/unexplained symptoms, even just one. Many people are experiencing just one or very mild cold-like symptoms and there’s really no way to tell the difference without testing. By families being extra vigilant assessing their child each morning for any symptoms and testing when needed, it will help keep the spread at school to a minimum.

Testing is still available at the school this year. We also have at home tests that can be sent home as needed. Here is the rapid Covid testing consent form for the 2022-23 school year. Please take a moment to fill it out to indicate whether or not you consent to your child being rapid Covid tested at school.

As always, per the school policy, even if your child tests negative for Covid, they will need to be free of vomiting and fever for at least 24hrs without the use of fever reducing medication prior to returning to school. Even if students test negative for Covid, if they are experiencing moderate to severe symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, etc., they should remain home until symptoms significantly improve to help slow the spread of germs. Should you choose not to Covid test for cold-like symptoms, the student should not return to school until symptoms have resolved.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the nurse with any questions.

Lice Policy

We have had some questions about the lice procedure from families. Here is a letter with the most up to date information and policy.

Mrs. Pelletier's class has been going to the Children’s Community Garden at the Hill Library. They are learning how to get seeds from flowers that are dying and how to save them to replant for the spring. They have also harvested lots of tomatoes, peppers, and squash

Scientists in 2-J are researching biome habitats around the globe. We read and write facts collected from texts and on-line resources. Here we are using non-fiction books and recording vocabulary that scientists "need to know before they go."

Mrs. Rousselle's students wrote book recommendations to display in the hall. We love to read!

2022-23 Yearbook

Yearbook Cover

We are looking for student submissions to be considered for the cover of this year´s yearbook. Students can use any materials for creating their cover. The cover should represent Strafford School and include the name Strafford School on it. It needs to be 8.5"x11" with a 1/4" margin around it. A hard copy of the cover submission should be turned in to Mrs. Jordan by November 15th.
