Hello, Marching Band Families!
Hopefully you have heard about the amazing opportunity for our marching band kids to play at the
Stranger Things
premiere party this weekend.
Mr. McKeown posted a Google doc for signups on the students' Facebook page. Participation is optional.
This prestigious gig will earn a donation for the Viking Marching Band that will help pay for much-needed equipment upgrades!
We are looking at a 10-hour day this Friday, from rehearsal to the gig. It's going to be awesome!
SCHEDULE
Friday
12-3 p.m.
:
Rehearse in the band room
3:45 p.m.
:
Red carpet performance
5-6 p.m.
:
Basketball court performance for VIP and guests
(Dinner, then transportation to the pier)
8-10 p.m.
:
Arrival/Performance at the Santa Monica Pier/Return to Samohi
Sunday
We are awaiting final word on the timeline, but it will be a couple of hours between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
ATTIRE
Students need to wear a
light shirt
for under the bibbers, and a
plain white t-shirt
for over the pants.
Dinkles
are needed as well. It may get cold at the pier on Friday night, so bring a
band jacket
!
