Republic School District families,

Last week, we shared information about our district’s new Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP), including how it was created and how it will guide us in the years to come. As previously explained, the new CSIP was developed over the course of 18 months, through collecting feedback from stakeholders across our community. Learn more here

We've already started implementing strategies to reach the goals outlined in our new CSIP, which has three focus areas: Academics, Culture and Leadership.

For the Republic School District, the academic success of each student has and always will be a top priority. Our district's new mission statement – which was developed along with the CSIP – is to "prepare each student for future excellence through a safe educational environment."

Watch the video below to hear about the measures that will be implemented through the new CSIP as we support students' education.

When it comes to academic success, our district's goal is to "empower all students and staff to continuously progress toward learning goals."

As Christy Coursey and Dr. Allison Dishman discussed in the video, the Republic School District's previous CSIP focused heavily on academics. Through that plan, we saw improvement across all grade levels. Moving forward, we will build on the strategies that worked and add additional goals that guide our students' learning.

We will work to continuously improve literacy and numeracy skills, as well as embed the "four C's" (collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking) into our curriculum. There will also be a new focus on financial literacy, as we enhance our efforts to prepare each student for their future with the knowledge and skills they need to be successful after high school graduation.

While we are committed to the educational advancement of our students, we know learners do their best in an environment where they feel welcomed, accepted and cared for. That’s why the new CSIP is also heavily focused on the culture of our buildings and district as a whole. Next week, we’ll share more information regarding that piece of our strategic plan.
