Drs. Phillip Caldwell and Rajah Smart of
Resolute Educational Solutions, LLC
were in the District on Monday of this week to share information related to the Preliminary Data Report and the IR-Path, the tool Resolute uses to analyze the District’s data. They met with several groups and individuals including members of the Shaker Heights Schools Data Department, members of the Superintendent’s Leadership Team, and Shaker Heights Board of Education President Heather Weingart.
The alignment work at the school level continues next week with the last of three virtual modules. Schools are continuing to work on building-level action plans to align with the District Strategic Plan.
On February 24 and 25, Resolute will return to Shaker, and scheduled activities will be a combination of meetings with groups they met with on their first site visit in October, as well as working with school-level teams on action plans.
Resolute is working to integrate data related to Finance and Human Resources into the data report. They have also started to develop a draft Strategic Plan. The plan will be designed to address the themes represented in our data and culled from focus groups and classroom visits. These themes include challenges related to student engagement, disparities in student discipline, and the makeup of some of our activities and classes.
The District is coordinating with Resolute to be present at the next Board of Education Work Session to report on the data and the plan being drafted. That Work Session is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 in the Shaker Heights High School Small Auditorium.
