Strategies K-3 teachers can apply for students with mild to moderate disabilities
Overview: Early childhood development will be touched on briefly with a focus on developmental delay, developmental risk, and disabilities for young children. We will also focus on the learning and behavioral characteristics of young children with developmental delays/disabilities and implications for intervention and instruction will be explored. Strategies that support inclusion will be the main focus. PowerPoints, group discussion, and Google Doc activities will be utilized. One example of an activity is participants will be given scenarios about young children with disabilities and will discuss specific strategies for the students and their needs. Utilizing scenario-based activities will help the educators apply the information in a practical manner.
