Stratfield Neighborhood Public Information Meeting
Date: Thursday, April 24
Time: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Where: Fairfield Ludlowe High School Auditorium
Why Attend This Meeting:
-
To be informed about proposed improvements along Rt. 59, specifically from Church Hill to Collinwood Avenue, and at the intersection of Wilson and Church Hill Road. We encourage you to participate in the process by reviewing our proposed plans and sharing your thoughts and suggestions. Your input will be vital in helping us make informed decisions, ensuring the finalized designs align with everyone's expectations. This feedback phase is crucial before we proceed.
-
Crossing Rt. 59 at Church Hill: A project was initiated by the Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee along with the Stratfield Neighborhood Association to address the struggle of crossing Rt. 59 at the Church Hill intersection to access the school.
-
Additional safety concerns have been raised by residents including the narrow, deteriorated pavement, sections without sidewalks, and the Wilson, Fairfield Woods and Church Hill Road intersection located roughly a quarter mile to the northeast of Rt. 59.
-
The Town received a $2 million Urban Act Grant in 2023 for improvements along Rt. 59 and at the intersection of Church Hill Road, Fairfield Woods, and Wilson Street.
