Remainder of July 13th-14th: Watermain Construction from Smithtown Road to Alexander Lane is scheduled to continue. This area includes Peach Circle. If you work from home or need to leave throughout the day during these operations, you may be asked to park your vehicle outside of the day’s working area while crews are on site. Construction staff will continue to help coordinate this with you. Please utilize the Cathcart Drive detour or utilize alternate routes accordingly.
Strawberry Lane storm sewer construction may begin near the intersection of Strawberry Court and Strawberry Lane. From this intersection, the storm sewer installation will continue south. Like watermain construction, the roadway in the working area will be closed to vehicle traffic. The construction crew plans to provide vehicle access for residents living in the Strawberry Court neighborhood during the process. Private residential contractors will be required to keep equipment out of the roadway and construction area if they are scheduled to be working on your home. Construction staff will help coordinate with residents on a day-to-day basis for staging vehicles so that they are accessible during the day.
July 17th-21st: Watermain construction is scheduled to begin in Peach Circle. The Resident Project Representative will be coming around later this week to advise Peach Circle residents of the up-and-coming construction work. This process is anticipated to last 3-4 days. Upon completion of the watermain installation on Peach Circle, the crew will most likely continue to install watermain from Peach Circle to Alexander Lane. An updated schedule will be provided next week for those who will be impacted for vehicle access if the crew plans to continue southward.
Roadway Excavation and grading work may begin near the middle of the week, and it is anticipated that they will begin work near the intersection of Peach Circle and Strawberry Lane. A detailed update will be provided once confirmed. The Construction Project Representative will be coming around to inform those who will be impacted for vehicle access and staging during working hours.
Other Important Items to note:
- Please label your garbage cans with your address written on duct tape so that crews may be able to move garbage and recycling cans for pickup on days where the roadway will not be passable. We ask that you set these cans out on Tuesday afternoon/evening so that crews can quickly move them to available pick-up locations outside of the working area.
- Temporary mailboxes are installed and located along the North side of Shorewood Oaks Drive near the intersection of Strawberry Lane and Shorewood Oaks Drive. This includes mailboxes for all residents living on the Strawberry Lane project and adjacent roadways. To alleviate congestion, ensure mail delivery is not missed, and provide safety measures, it has been placed just outside of the construction. See the below image of the location:
