21 Week Anti-Racism Challenge | Week 10
Are you looking for ways to engage in the work of anti-racism? Are you having trouble finding the time or the right resources? Our 21 Week Challenge is just for you! The 21 Week Challenge is aimed at providing an accessible opportunity for congregational members to better understand systemic racism and to inspire local community engagement. Inspired by similar challenges across the country, this Challenge was developed by the YWCA Greater Cleveland. The Living Water Association is grateful to partner with the YWCA in hosting this Challenge.

Book Discussion with Old South
Bias is defined as prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair. Bias conditions how we look at the world and the people in it,despite our conscious motivations and desires. This is a word used often when racial tensions are discussed. It is important to understand bias to confront it at a personal and institutional level.

Biased: Uncovering the Hidden Prejudice That Shapes What We See, Think, and Do by Jennifer L. Eberhardt provides a guide to recognize and understand bias and what each of us can do about it. Old South Church, Kirtland will hold a discussion group on this book for 6 weeks to share thoughts about the reading and learn how to change our world for the better. This discussion will be online, October 7 to November 11, 6:30-8:00.
