WORLD'S FASTEST STREET CARS TAKE AIM AT ATLANTA DRAGWAY!

After record-setting season opening events at Bradenton Motorsports Park, the NMRA and NMCA move to Commerce, Georgia's Atlanta Dragway for the 7th Annual Borla Exhaust NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals presented by Miller Welders April 9-12. This second event of the season for both organizations combines the power of the Keystone Automotive All Ford Drag Racing Series with the Flowmaster Drag Racing Series to create one of the largest heads-up races of the year - featuring the nation's quickest and fastest doorslammers at the same venue.

With one race completed and the winter doldrums nothing but a distant memory, racers will be kicking into overdrive as the meat of the 2015 season begins to unfold in Commerce where some of the wildest action of the season is sure to be produced. From the crazy power of VP Racing Fuels Pro Mod, to the finesse needed to navigate the quarter-mile in the combined Street Outlaw eliminator, this race will take care of any adrenaline junkies needs!

There's something for everyone at this event... from a huge all domestic car show to a giant vendor midway, burnout contests, swap meet and more. Fans can also look forward to several exhibition runs by Scott Holdridge in his "Fifty Cal" Jet Dragster capable of over 300 mph. When Holdridge hits the throttle and fires off the jet engine in his dragster, there's no doubt that he's capable of breaking records. It's something you have to see to believe! When it's time to slow the pace a bit, the car show is happening on both Saturday and Sunday complete with hundreds of early- and late-model cars and trucks as well as street rods, hot rods and beautiful classics shined up and looking sharp for the journalists' cameras!

WILL JOHNNY LIGHTNING STRIKE TWICE... AGAIN?

One racer who enters this event with loads of momentum behind him is Johnny "Lightning" Wiker. Wiker, is coming off of wins in both Edelbrock Renegade and Detroit Locker Truck and Lightning - a first in NMRA competition.

Wiker knows the "double up" isn't easy and he isn't counting on repeating the result in Georgia, but going into this event, leading points in two classes does put him in a good position. Wiker says leading the points won't change his approach to his racing strategy. "We go into each race with same goal, and that goal is to win. We aren't going to Atlanta with the idea of protecting our points. We're going there with hopes of doing exactly what we did in Florida," Wiker said.

Hoping for it and actually executing the idea are totally different and Wiker is realistic about his approach. "We need to be ready to do the best we can. As the driver, I need to be tuned in. The truck and the car need to be tuned in and T.J. Bailey (NMCA and NMRA Starter), has to have the track in good shape in order for it all to come together for us again, but I know I'm not the only one gunning for the win there. There are a lot of other guys who want it just as much as I do," Wiker concluded. Those "other guys" are hungry too, because if Wiker does end up in the Aerospace Components Winner's Circle in either class, it will make everyone else's job of catching him that much tougher.
