Project Harmony, Omaha Police
collaborate to help vulnerable youth

A well-designed, ambitious collaboration between an Omaha nonprofit and the Omaha Police Department is offering new hope to children in crisis. Through an expanded partnership with Project Harmony, Omaha police are no longer returning runaway youth automatically to their home.

Meet Kodjovi Dogbevi
Program Manager - Connections

Explain your position at Project Harmony.
I hire, orientate and supervise mental health coordinators. I also work with mental health therapists to align staffing with referrals and maintain supportive contact with referral sources.

What led you to work at Project Harmony?
The advocacy of children leads me to work every day. This is my way to contribute and make a difference by helping children and families impacted by child abuse and neglect.

Tell me about someone who has influenced your decision to work at Project Harmony or a mentor who has helped the most in your career.
My supervisor, when I first started working in the Human Services field, was a mentor. He believed in me, he saw something in me that I didn't know how to cultivate in myself and always taught me to see the positives in light of everything. A current Project Harmony peer, who is a great ambassador of our mission, influenced my decision to apply and work here.

When you are not working, how do you enjoy spending your time?
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and enjoy watching CNN (news) to know what is going on around the world.

What is the one thing you are most proud of about your job?
I'm definitely proud of the talented, dedicated and committed individuals I work with every day here at Project Harmony. Our strengths lie in our collaboration.

Omaha Gives
Less Than One Month 'til Omaha Gives!

A report of child abuse is made every 10 seconds. Right here in our community Project Harmony is seeing an increase in the number of children served. This  doesn't mean that Omaha has more abuse than any other part of the country. This  does mean that our community is becoming aware and making that call on behalf of a child. The cycle of abuse does not have to continue. There is hope. Communities are coming together, pooling their resources and making a difference. Your contribution during Omaha Gives! allows you to become part of the solution - ensuring hope, health, and resilience for children and families in need. To help end child abuse, consider donating to Project Harmony this year at omahagives.org and help us reach our goal of $40,000.
