An Update From ALDE on COVID-19
Dear ALDE Members,

God is our refuge and strength, a very present[ help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult.
Psalm 46: 1-3

We are truly living in unprecedented times – as you well know. I live in Illinois, where our Governor has just declared that we are to “shelter-in-place” for the foreseeable future, which causes much anxiety and uncertainty. I’m certain that many of you are in the same situation or soon will be, and I wanted to assure you that ALDE is here to support you.

As Christian fundraisers, we are called to serve our Lord and His people. Obviously, it is an exceptionally difficult time for us to do our work when everything seems so unusual. Our donors are fearful. Our team members are concerned about their jobs. People are not able to congregate to worship or interact in other ways, and this makes people feel isolated and lonely. In our roles as connectors, we surely feel powerless to provide reassurances when so much is unknown.

Our lives are precious and fragile. Our lives are in our Lord’s hands, but we must take all necessary precautions to keep ourselves and our families and others healthy and safe. I encourage you to follow guidelines that are being shared to help stem the spread of this virulent virus that has swept around the globe.

As you may be working entirely from home, or be confined to home, you will likely need guidance and tools to use to maintain as much of your contact with your donors as is possible. Your board is finalizing a communications plan that will offer resources to help you be as productive as you can be despite all these challenges. We welcome your suggestions and invite your comments and questions - please just reply to this email. ALDE is committed to serving you, our members, and we so appreciate your investment in our association. Beginning early next week, we will be in touch with regular updates that provide support as we seek as much normalcy as possible.

We have faith that we will move beyond this crisis, but we want to provide virtual fellowship at this incredibly uncertain time. We pray that you and your family are healthy and remain so throughout the duration of this crisis. Blessings to you and your ministries during this incredibly challenging reality.
Together in Christ,
