Yoga for All Ages and Stages of Life
Greetings!

There is nothing like going through some personal or family health crisis to make you smarter! It's like getting a fire hose of information poured into you. I know many of you can relate.

I 've been doing alot of research on the Lymphatic System as it is tied directly into your Immune System. The Immune System protects your body from pathogens and defends it from foreign materials. The Lymphatic System is the network of vessels through which the lymph drains back to the blood as it flushes out toxins. Both systems work together to keep us healthy.

If we think of it in simple terms... say we have some foreign material, bacteria, virus, pathogen, etc that enters into our bodies and we need to get it out! That is where the Lymph comes into play. It is through movements like bending, twisting, shaking and squeezing that this process can occur. This flushing process needs movement... and what better movement than Yoga to keep our Immune and Lymphatic Systems working together for our benefit!

Look at the photo of all the lymph nodes in our torso and where they are located. There are lots of them and they are our bodies vacuum cleaners!

When seasons change, we are in most jeopardy for getting sick. Keep your Immune System healthy and keep moving!

Namasate,
Sherry

This class was filmed in late winter when the weather started to change, so I added in some lymph work to get our immune systems healthy. Whenever we go through season changes, our immune system can get challenged. The best way to get your Lymphatic System healthy is to MOVE, BEND, TWIST and SHAKE!

As with all classes, there are alot of head to toe movement sequences to keep our engines running great. And 3 Dances: Sway, Locomotion and the River

Power Up your Personal Practice!
My 25-year old son tells me he is into HIIT (High Intensity Integral Training). And my daughter who has successfully recovered from Lymphoma is on a similar regiment. I have seen this acronym now for awhile, but it is making BIG strides in the Fitness world.

And you know what? .... I get it!

I'll be 64 in November and I know that I need to bring in more Power, Challenge and Cardio more often into my life. But, I also know I need to do it wisely so that I don't get hurt or overdo.
If you are ready to Power Up Your Yoga Practice , then join me for my Side Yard Chakra Series. These practices are 15-20 minutes and they pack in a good bunch of benefits to challenge us and keep us strong, nimble and healthy!
