HEPP® is Here!!

We are thrilled to partner with the International Community School in Decatur, GA to offer our HEALTH AND EDUCATION PROMOTERS PROGRAM (HEPP® ). This is a 40-hour course that integrates face-to-face and online learning and helps to prepare bilingual community members to work as interpreters in education, medical and social services settings.

Participants will have the opportunity to complete a 10-hour practicum at the International Community School and be connected to local interpreter agencies seeking trained interpreters. The course is open to speakers of any language and no previous interpreting experience is required. HEPP® will be offered at a discounted price of $450 for a limited time. Registration will close on January 17, 2020 and space is limited to 25 participants. For more information, please visit:

A Well-Deserved Professional Credential

A group of dedicated multilingual professionals in Arkansas, received their Interpreter Credential in Education after completing a language proficiency assessment, 40 hours of training, practice sessions, performance evaluations and cultural presentations. We are so proud of the State of Arkansas for providing Interpreters in Education with a professional credential recognized by the Department of Education and Arkansas DHS Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education. Thank you for allowing SeSo, Inc to be part of this process!   
Building Our Network of Professional Interpreters in Education
Our last Professional Interpreter in Education and Professional Interpreter in Special Education online courses of 2019, taught in collaboration with the University of Georgia, included participants who speak six different languages and support English Learner families across the United States including GA, IL, TN, CA, NY, SC, NC, TX, and ID . We continue to build a network of professional interpreters in education who understand the uniqueness of our settings, communicate our Standards of Practice across the nation, and support their communities to engage English Learner families in a way that only a trained and qualified educational interpreter can. Our Interpreters Sharing Cultural Insight at Emory University

What do our professional interpreters/translators do with their free time? They become our distinguished guest speakers!! Thank you to our team of interpreters (who, combined, speak nine languages!) for sharing their cultural insight with students from the Emory University Physician Assistant Program! For the fourth year in a row, Emory University has trusted SeSo, Inc, to share information about multicultural health practices and working effectively with medical interpreters. Students enjoyed a live cupping demonstration, a presentation about the rich diversity of the Indian culture, and tips from a multilingual physician on traditional medicine practices. 
Communicating Our Cultural Humility Message with Early Childhood Educators
We had the honor to be guest speakers at the GA Association for the Education of Young Children where we shared information to create cultural and linguistic bridges with English Learner families with early childhood educators. Educators received practical tools to engage families early and support their transition to K-12 settings.
Promoting the Cognitive and Financial Benefits of Being Bilingual
In the past few months, we have reached hundreds of students with one message: Being Bilingual is a Gift! Students also learned about different career paths and opportunities open to those who speak more than one language and the steps to become a professional interpreter in medical and educational settings.
English Learner Parental Engagement Workshops

Our workshops are designed to give Educators, Parent Instructional Coordinators, Parent Liaisons, School Counselors and School Administrators, the tools needed to reach English Learner families and identify ways to create welcoming and inviting schools, while promoting parental involvement.
Cultural Humility Workshops

Through highly-interactive small group activities, we explore how cultural differences may impact the provider-client interaction and outcomes, and discover creative ways to strengthen cultural and linguistic bridges with diverse populations. Customized 2-hour, 4-hour or 8-hour workshops are available.
