New Strictly Business Banner

June 12, 2020

Dear Chamber Member:

The City of Long Beach has amended the  "Safer At Home" Order  effective Today, June 12, 2020. As of TODAY the following industries in Long Beach will be  allowed to re-open with modifications:

  • Gyms and fitness facilities
  • Museums, galleries, and the Aquarium of the Pacific
  • Day and youth camps
  • Hotels and resorts
  • Music, film and TV production
  • Campgrounds, RV parks, and outdoor recreation

The City has made the decision to allow for these industries to open based on current data and health trends. Unfortunately, the County of Los Angeles and City of Long Beach have decided that they are not quite ready to open *family entertainment centers and bars/wineries, though will reevaluate later in June.

*Family entertainment: includes bowling alleys, arcades, miniature golf, movie theaters, etc.

Also, please keep in mind that each business is different and therefore some businesses are choosing not to open at this time, and rather choosing to open at their own pace.

Still closed include the following:

  • Nail Salons
  • Tattoo Parlors
  • Spas and Massage
  • Live Performances
  • Stadiums and Arenas
  • Large Events
  • Theme Parks

More information on our reopenings and specific guidance will be available in the days ahead on the city website as well as at  https://www.lbchamber.com/covid-19/ .
