Because we've all been there...
Jane Carlton's first hunter derby on grass at the Fieldstone Show Park in Halifax, Massachusetts, with Any Day Now didn't go quite to plan.

"She's an old pro, but when I approached the second jump of the warm-up course (panicked beyond all belief), I leaned forward, she (rightfully) stopped, and I plopped off—as did the bridle," said Carlton.

"My great friend Terisé Cole took this amazing shot of me marching to catch 'Mary' (though she was very happy eating grass)," she continued. "We made it over every jump in the actual derby round and ended the day with a happy horse and a relieved rider. The photo has become slightly infamous—it’s hanging in my trainer’s office along with all the show photos!"

Humor: Jitterbug's Guide To Grooming

"You may wonder if it’s worthwhile to spend precious energy on something so basic, but consider this—you’ve seen the bits of hay stuck to your human’s fleece, the layers of dust on her breeches (does she ever wash those?) and the questionable hairstyles she comes up with after a ride. Grooming is probably not intuitive for her."
