Men’s Health Month: Mental Wellness | |
Real Talk: Men’s Health, Mind, and Body
June is Men’s Health Month, and that includes mental health. At NCFamU, we recognize that men often face unique challenges when it comes to expressing emotions, seeking help, and prioritizing self-care. Societal expectations and stigma can keep many men including fathers, caregivers, and youth alike, from speaking openly about their well-being.
To foster connection and support, we’re hosting a special webinar on June 26th at 11:30 AM, featuring a powerful panel of men of different ages who will open up about their health journeys—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

From breaking the stigma to sharing real-life tools and tips, this discussion is designed to offer education, empowerment, and encouragement for men, and those who care about them. Let’s talk, learn, and grow together.
At NCFamU, we are committed to creating safe spaces where men and boys can find their voice, build resilience, and know they’re not alone. This month, join us in uplifting men’s mental and emotional wellness, because strength also means knowing when to reach out.
Please see the bottom section of the newsletter to sign up for our upcoming webinar. If you or someone you know has a story to share around men’s health, we invite you to connect with us through the contact form on our website.

Our Mental Health Awareness Month Field Day Festival was a joyful success! Held on May 31st, the event brought families, youth, and community partners together to celebrate mental wellness, raise awareness, and promote connection through fun, hands-on activities.
From face painting and yard games to interactive wellness booths and community resources, the day was full of smiles and meaningful conversations. We are incredibly grateful to all of our volunteers, vendors, and attendees who helped bring the event to life.

Supporting Every Identity, Every Mind
At NCFamU, we believe that every person deserves to feel seen, safe, and supported—and this Pride Month, we honor and stand with the LGBTQ+ community. Mental health and identity are deeply connected, and studies consistently show that LGBTQ+ youth and adults face greater risks of mental health challenges due to stigma, discrimination, and lack of support.
That’s why we’re committed to being an affirming and inclusive space for families of all identities. Whether it's offering peer support, youth leadership opportunities, or trauma-informed advocacy, we work to ensure that LGBTQ+ individuals feel empowered, valued, and connected to resources that respect their full identity.
| | This month—and every month—we reaffirm our belief that mental health is for everyone. Let’s celebrate the strength and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community while continuing to push for equity, understanding, and inclusive care. | | NCFamU is excited to bring together young people through our engaging youth group meetings. These events provide a supportive space for youth to connect, share experiences, and develop skills for positive mental health. From our younger group to teens, these meetings are designed to encourage open conversation, build confidence, and create a sense of community. Together, we are empowering our youth to thrive and grow. | |
