How many times have you described your job to someone and had them respond, "So, you're an architect?" Members of the general public often have an incomplete, and sometimes distorted, view of the structural engineering profession. What are you doing to change that?
The greatest opportunity for us to change the image of structural engineering is with children; children are eager to learn, they learn quickly, and they will carry our society into the future. It's also easy to speak to an audience of children - at your local schools.

For the second year, the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA) has awarded grants to its Member Organizations through the NCSEA Grant Program. The program was developed in 2014 to assist NCSEA Member Organizations in growing and promoting their organizations and the structural engineering field. In 2015, five grants were presented in the inaugural year. In 2016, eight grants totaling $20,670 will be disbursed, nearly double the amount of the previous year. Any NCSEA Member Organization or member(s) of a Member Organization are eligible to apply.
