Kitchen Complete with Wet Bar |
Our goal with this update was to create a modern yet classic looking kitchen anyone could appreciate. We started by incorporating the room's existing structural beams into our design. First we wrapped the beams in fluted trim and topped them with crown molding. We then installed 42" cherry wood, cabinets to maximize storage space. A translucent "rain" glass cabinet was placed in a corner, adding a touch of variety to while still keeping with the theme.
We then installed a stove top into the granite island which was strategically designed between two structural beams. On the side of the island a custom bookshelf was integrated for storing cookbooks. Taylor Made incorporated scroll-designed finials which doubled as structural support for the top tier of the island.
Modern appliances such as the double stainless steel oven, microwave and refrigerator contrast well with the cherry wood cabinets. Recessed lighting throughout the kitchen illuminated the polished hardwood floor, cabinets, granite counter-tops and sleek appliances.
We added an arched panel over the sink and two large, elongated bread drawers which are great for storage.
We installed a convenient wet bar that allowed for more continuity in the kitchen. Perfect for entertaining, this area included a wine refrigerator, wine rack, and glass holder. Next to the wet bar, we included a 5 x 7 ft pantry cabinets, creating even more storage space.
Matching design accents appeared throughout this kitchen. The goose neck faucets were found in both the main sink and wet bar sink. The translucent "rain" glass was used over the wet bar sink and next to the microwave. Lastly, the fluted trim could be seen on the sink in addition to the structural beams.

Easy Ways to Save Energy this Winter
| If you didn't get the tax return you were hoping for this year, you can still save plenty of money by conserving energy in your home. It's not too late to apply these energy-saving techniques which will keep your family warm, potentially increase your property value and leave you with some extra cash this winter! 1. Adjust the Lighting.
Try using dimmer controls and timers on your light switches. Dimmers are great for mood lighting and timers are a smart back up plan for those forgetful moments.
2. Take Advantage of Sunlight.
Sunlight warms your house in the winter, so try keeping your windows clear of drapes and shades during the daytime. Just remember to close them again at night! This is especially great idea if you have dark colored walls which will easily absorb natural light.
3. Consider Adding a Skylight.
Not only will this option add value to your home and save energy, skylights are visually stunning. They will maximize the amount of natural light you can enjoy in the winter.
4. Check for Leaks.
Take a moment to check doors, outlets, windows, fireplaces and faucets for leaks of any kind. These items are relatively easy to fix by caulking or adding insulation, but left unchecked leaks can become an energy burden.
5. Unplug.
Make a mental note to use the outlets in your home as little as possible.
6. Do your Research.
Before replacing a large appliance in your home such as TV or refrigerator, check to see if any Energy Star certified products are available. These products meet strict guidelines for energy efficiency and are great long-term investment for your home.
